“I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma.
In the afternoon I put it back again.”

Without a Word

If only there was somebody for me to ignore

If there was a lake, I’d watch the swans run on water

Lay on the grass like there’s no tomorrow

~

Because my steps are slow

It’s because my heart is slow, I couldn’t cry

~

Seconds of blinking lets truth escape

If there was a bright blue sky and stars during the day

There was a significant waterfall next to the sun

~

Are tears really crying?

~

Purpose fluctuates like rays of sunlight

There was no online message

Or written letter tucked beneath the door

~

If only I can see something I could blame

A reason that I could learn

Why isn’t there a brake on this expectation train?

~

Because my steps are slow, there was no one

It’s because my heart is slow

~

There was no word

‘… when you stand on your feet,

you’ll take up a small space on this earth…

but when you stand on your principles,

you’ll take up the space of this entire world.’

Between the Journey and Destiny

As the hand reached as far as the eye could see

The golden armour, metal on metal crash

He died but he is only dying

While the stoic past tense, voiced into his present

“Do you have something to protect?”

~

Clenched fist slowly unravelling

The heat of the attack still fresh

The ears no longer listening but the echo insists

“Do you have something to protect?”

So his soul could not leave this abyss of humanity

~

It was a revolution against the system

The inception of freedom engraved with his heart

“Do you have something to protect?”

There was nothing left, his family, village, property

Perished for a vision in another book

~

There was nothing left yet the echo repeats

“Do you have something to protect?”

The man’s hand showed an empty palm

But the prelude to death could not allow him to drift

Without the subtext decoded the echo instils

~

“Do you have something to protect?”

The persistent Knight who masked an aching heart

For the revolution his children could no longer live for

The ultimate sacrifice is the sacrifice of name

The ultimate sacrifice is the sacrifice of the name

I’ll write your name my homeland on the sunshine that never falls

I don’t need money or fame to make you the best home of all

I’ll write your name my homeland on the sunshine that never vanishes

I don’t need loans or compliments to create you families of happiness

I’ll write your name my homeland on the sunshine that never hides

I don’t need the latest brands to make you rise so proud

 remains and is immortal”
